XiaomiDevices – After upgrading to MIUI 10, many users are confused about where to find the settings to display the operator name in the status bar of their smartphone. Then, where are these settings?
Just as Google is constantly improving the Android system by launching new versions of Android, Xiaomi is also very diligent in launching updates for Android his special system, namely MIUI.
As the newest system, the electronics company from the Bamboo Curtain country, officially launched MIUI 10 to provide various improvements and fixes to every device that supports it.
More specifically, MIUI 10 offers better performance, lower battery consumption, a new design, improved features, and various other improvements.
But unfortunately, despite getting a significant improvement, the operating system that is also offered to older Xiaomi devices also has some drawbacks. In addition to displaying ads more aggressively, the absence of operator name settings in the notification bar is also an issue for some users.
Then, how to display operator name in MIUI 10?
Unlike MIUI 9 which provides a setting to display the carrier name in the status bar, MIUI 10 does not come with this particular setting. Or in short, users can’t put the operator’s name in the status bar.
Xiaomi itself did not reveal exactly why this was done, but some users MI Forum argues that this is because MIUI 10 is adapted to most Xiaomi devices, which have started to use bangs screens.
The good news is, even if the settings for the status bar are removed, users can still use the operator’s name specifically in the status bar on the lock screen. Even still the same as MIUI 9, they are also allowed to change the name according to the user’s will.
In this case, the user only needs to enter the Settings on the device. After that, they can choose an option Notifications & status bar. Then the user can activate Show carrier when device is locked. Or to change the name, the user can choose Edit carrier name.
Meanwhile, even now Xiaomi is developing MIUI 11, which will be a unique and new operating system. Hopefully through this new system, they bring back the carrier name setting, considering future devices are dominated by completely full screens with no bangs.
