XiaomiDevices – We now no longer need to install third-party services to lock applications if we use one of the Xiaomi-made cellphones including the Mi, Redmi, or POCO series.
The company from the Bamboo Curtain country is because it has equipped its MIUI system interface with various security and privacy features to protect personal data and information.
One of them is App Lock, a feature that allows us to lock various personal applications with a pattern, facial recognition, or fingerprint scanner.
The addition of this feature can certainly be good news because we can lock applications more securely. We no longer need to install services from third parties which are sometimes vulnerable to carrying malware or malicious code even though they have been officially distributed through the Google Play Store.
With the addition of this privacy feature, we can also lock applications on Xiaomi cellphones very easily. You can listen to the following explanation in more detail if you still can’t use it.
How to Lock Apps on Xiaomi Phones
- Go to page Settings
- Enter menu Apps
- Select submenu App lock
- Tap the button Turn on if you haven’t set it yet
- Create a security pattern if prompted
- Login with Mi account if needed
- Click button Use App lock
- Scan fingerprint if you want to set fingerprint unlock option
- Find the app you want to lock
- Tap the button next to it to lock the app
There are quite complete settings in the App Lock feature. We can more freely set things like hiding content in notifications from related applications, unlocking at one time, to adding face or fingerprint unlock.
To do some of these settings, we only need to tap the button Settings (nut icon) in the top right corner of the App Lock main page. We’ll just have to tap on the appropriate option and follow the prompts that appear.
How to Restore Locked Apps Like Before
- Visit page App Lock like the previous steps
- Find the app you want to restore
- Use the search feature if you have trouble
- Turn off the button next to the app
In addition to returning locked applications to their original state, we can also turn off the Xiaomi App Lock feature easily if they are no longer needed. We simply visit the Settings page and then disable the button on the App lock option.
