One of the questions that we receive the most on a daily basis is related to the way of to import configuration profiles stored in xml format in the GCam application that many of you have downloaded on your Xiaomi.

For those of you who don’t know what it is, these files with extension .xml They are nothing more than a backup of the various settings and configurations of the Google Camera app. Thanks to these, we can establish the most appropriate parameters for our Xiaomi device and thus achieve better results.

If each .xml that the developers offer us has been made specifically for a specific device, considering your photographic hardware. That is why, in addition to installing the GCam according to our Xiaomi device, it is recommended to import the corresponding XML.

How to import xml profiles in GCam 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3…

While in previous versions of GCam we just had to copy the xml configuration profiles to the path /GCam/Settings, now with the new versions 7.0 onwards, that is, 7.1, 7.2… the process is different.

Now, from these new versions of GCam, the mask that we will have to create and in which we will host the XML profiles will be /GCam/Settings7. In case you do not have it created, you can do it with the MIUI file manager itself.

After having copied the XML profile in the “Configs7” folder, we will only have to open Google Camera (GCam) and double click on any area that is free between the shutter and the other elements.

Next, a dialog box will appear where we will choose our profile to import and then click on UPDATE to apply and import it into our installed GCam.
