How to change the voice assistant in MIUI

To change the voice assistant on a Xiaomi mobile device we will have to carry out the following steps if what we want is activate the Alexa assistant:

  1. Install the Alexa app.
  2. Go to Settings> Applications> Manage applications.
  3. Click on the three points in the upper right and enter Default applications.
  4. Once inside we go to Asist. and voice input> Assistance application and choose Alexa.

In this way we will have changed the Google voice assistant for that of Alexa in our Xiaomi. In addition, if we want it to be the one that is executed after its invocation through the button shortcuts or through the remote control which include some headphones:

  1. Go to Settings> Applications> Manage applications.
  2. Click on the three points in the upper right and enter Default applications.
  3. Once inside we go to Voice assistant and choose Alexa in “Wake up with button shortcuts” and “Wake up with Bluetooth audio”.

Configure the power button to invoke the Alexa assistant

If we want that Alexa is invoked by the power button of our Xiaomi we will have to carry out the following steps:

  1. Go to the Settings app> Additional settings> Button shortcuts.
  2. Once inside, we go to the end and activate the option “Press and hold the Power button for 0.5 seconds to …”

In this way we will have configured the power button of our Xiaomi smartphone so that after a long press for at least 0.5 seconds automatically activate the invocation to Alexa. If what we want is to turn off our Xiaomi we will have to hold down said button for a longer time.
